Bringing Back the Monarchs

Master Naturalist and Forest Preserve Volunteer Steward, Phyllis Schulte gave such an informative and fascinating talk on the monarch butterfly, with special attention paid to the actions each one of us can take to help support this amazing animal.
Conservation@Home Kick Off Event

What a great turn out for the Conservation@Home Kick Off Event! Participants enjoyed sessions on how to create a nature-friendly yard, heard practical tips from Possibility Place Nursery, picked up helpful information and plant lists, and talked to professionals on getting started.
Conservation@Home is a new partnership between the Forest Preserve District of Will County, The Conservation Foundation and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
Shrubs, Shrubs & More Shrubs!

Over 25 people attended the native shrub seminar with Connor Shaw, proprietor of Possibility Place Nursery, to learn about the importance of using native shrubs to support our wildlife and forest ecosystems. Throughout the evening, Connor shared valuable information on 20, plus different species of native shrubs that homeowners could use. The group had great questions too!
