Charitable Giving Benefits for 2021 |
A Tax-Wise Way to Give
|
Starting in 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (the “CARES Act”) expanded the deductibility of charitable contributions to incentivize charitable giving during 2020. The Consolidated Appropriations Act (the “CAA”), which was passed on December 27, 2020, extended and expanded many provisions of the CARES Act for 2021, which continues to make this a favorable time for making charitable contributions.
To encourage charitably-minded individuals to increase support for the not-for-profit organizations they love, several sections provide incentives for making cash gifts in calendar years 2020 and 2021.
As always, please consult your legal counsel, tax professional, or financial planner before making any major financial decisions. |
If you are 72 or older, you can join your fellow Nature Foundation supporters who make tax-free gifts of up to $100,000 from their traditional IRAs.
Benefits of IRA-Qualified Charitable Distributions:
These types of gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction. Before making a distribution from your IRA, it's always important to consult your advisor beforehand. |
Legacy donors are truly special. When you become a legacy donor, you have the power to sustain and enhance a wide variety of programs, all of which protect nature, inspire discovery, and bring people and nature together!
Please contact us today to talk more about a planned gift that aligns with your personal values, planning needs and charitable aspirations. We would be honored to partner with you on this journey. If you make your gift prior to December 31, 2022, you will be recognized as a Founding Member of the Nature Foundation's Legacy Society.
