Board members are the fiduciaries who steer The Nature Foundation of Will County towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as by making sure it has adequate resources to advance its mission. Board members also play very significant roles providing guidance by contributing to The Nature Foundation's culture, strategic focus, effectiveness, and financial sustainability, as well as serving as ambassadors and advocates. Beyond fulfilling legal duties, board members are also important resources for the organization.
The Foundation's Board consists of between three and eleven voting directors, plus an additional four ex-officio (non-voting) directors comprised of the Forest Preserve District's Executive Director and three members of its Board of Commissioners.
